The HyDrive Admiral Series brings high performance hydraulic steering to commercial and high horsepower applications, where a standard helm pump isn't enough. Built around the HyDrive Model 101 and 102 mid-mount helm units, the Admiral range is engineered for smooth, powerful steering under load, without the feedback or fatigue that comes with heavy outboard, inboard, sterndrive or jet unit installations. Each helm is a precision-manufactured 7-piston pump, built to tolerances well above standard helm units. An in-built lock valve is standard across the range, eliminating torque feedback so the wheel stays exactly where it's put, even under load from large outboards or multiple V8 sterndrives. Supplied as a complete DIY installation kit with full instructions, no prior hydraulics knowledge is required to fit. As a mid-mount helm, it's designed for minimal protrusion from the console in installations where a mid-mount position suits the layout better than a front-mount unit. Build quality matches the performance rating: a solid stainless steel helm shaft delivers strength and durability, the shaft seal is field replaceable for easy servicing, and even the wheel nut and washer are brass. Four precision bearings are fitted throughout for the smoothest possible feel at the wheel.
