The HyDrive 510T and 510TSE are tube mount hydraulic steering cylinders for outboards and stern drives, supplied as individual components. They're commonly used as replacement cylinders for existing hydraulic steering systems, but can equally be used to build a custom system from scratch where the helm, fluid and tubing are being sourced separately. Each handles up to 235HP on a single outboard or 600HP on counter-rotational dual outboards. Both cylinders screw directly onto the outboard motor's tilt-tube or pivot-tube using the same thread as conventional cable steering, making them a straightforward swap where an existing cylinder needs replacing. Both can also be fitted directly to splashwell brackets. The 510T is a balanced cylinder, giving even turns lock to lock in both directions. The 510TSE is unbalanced, meaning it has a slightly higher number of turns lock to lock in one direction than the other, but in exchange requires less clearance for installation, making it a practical option where space around the tilt-tube is limited. Both cylinders are constructed from chromed brass, bronze and stainless steel for corrosion resistance and long service life in the marine environment.
