The HyDrive 516FM is a front-mount hydraulic steering cylinder for outboards, supplied as an individual component. It suits single outboards up to 200HP, or dual counter-rotating outboards up to 400HP total, and is commonly used as a replacement cylinder or to build a custom hydraulic steering system where the helm, fluid and tubing are being sourced separately. The 516FM cylinder features an all-new cylinder barrel construction for increased strength in a compact design, an anodised high tensile aluminium body for performance and protection, and precision ground and polished 316 stainless steel piston rods for maximum service life, unlike chrome-plated lower-grade stainless which can flake and damage seals.
