The HyDrive 510TSE Side Mount Steering Cylinder Kit is a popular hydraulic steering solution for outboard and stern drive powered boats, rated to handle up to 235HP on a single outboard or 600HP on counter-rotational dual outboards. It's a simple, low-cost upgrade from conventional cable steering. The 510TSE screws directly onto the outboard motor's tilt-tube or pivot-tube using the same thread as the original cable steering. The old steering cable is simply unscrewed from the motor, the HyDrive cylinder is threaded on in its place, and the fittings are connected. The cylinder can also be mounted directly to splashwell brackets where required. Unlike the balanced 510T, the 510TSE is an unbalanced cylinder, meaning it has a slightly higher number of turns lock to lock in one direction than the other. In exchange, it requires less clearance for installation, making it a practical option where space around the tilt-tube is limited. The 510TSE is constructed from chromed brass, bronze and stainless steel for corrosion resistance and long service life in the marine environment. As a complete kit, it's supplied with everything required for installation and first fill, so no separate parts need to be sourced to complete the fit-out.
