ROCNA STAINLESS STEEL SWIVEL SUITS 10-11MM CHAIN
Available to order for collect — supplier, typically 2–10 business days
The Rocna Swivel is a stainless steel anchor rode connector built to the same engineering standard as the Rocna anchor range. Made from G70 duplex stainless steel and individually proof tested, it is designed to handle the loads generated by anchoring and mooring without becoming the weak point in the ground tackle. The duplex stainless steel used in the Rocna Swivel offers superior yield strength and toughness, with a metallurgical composition optimised to resist stress-corrosion cracking in seawater. It exceeds the corrosion resistance of conventional stainless steels and is suitable for permanent seawater immersion. Every unit is individually load tested prior to dispatch to validate performance and eliminate variability. The Rocna Swivel connects to the anchor via a shackle rather than directly to the anchor shank, permitting free articulation in response to veered loads. Fitting a swivel directly to the shank is not recommended, as sideways loading can damage the swivel below its rated strength, increase leverage on the shank, and interfere with the anchor's performance. Correct installation uses a bow shackle with the body looped through the anchor shank's attachment point, with the shackle pin passed through the attachment point on the Rocna Swivel; where the shank cannot accept a shackle body, use a second shackle and connect the two body to body. The compact, low-profile geometry minimises bow-roller interference and ensures clean anchor stowage. In use, the swivel allows the anchor to orient correctly on retrieval, eliminating chain twist and reducing wear and stress on the chain, windlass, and ground tackle. Flushing drains keep the interior of the swivel joint clear during normal anchoring and casual chain cleaning. Assembly uses a single clamp screw secured with a Nord-Lock washer pair to prevent loosening under vibration and load, with nickel-based anti-seize applied from the factory. The swivel is user-serviceable and requires minimal ongoing maintenance. It is compatible with Rocna anchors as well as anchors from other manufacturers, and is backed by a Lifetime Warranty against breakage, bending, and manufacturing defects (subject to approved use and the exclusions set out in the User's Guide). Features: G70 duplex stainless steel construction Individually proof tested before dispatch Compact, low-profile design that minimises bow-roller interference Eliminates chain twist for correct anchor orientation on retrieval Rated stronger than G70 chain, no weak link in the ground tackle Connects via shackle for free articulation and maximum retained strength Nord-Lock washer-locked clamp screw with factory-applied anti-seize Flushing drains for easy cleaning Suits Rocna anchors and other anchor brands Lifetime Warranty against breakage, bending, and manufacturing defects Includes assembly tool, spare Nord-Lock washer pair, and User's Guide (shackle not included) Note: Do not attach the swivel directly to the anchor shank. Always connect via a shackle to allow free articulation and avoid damaging the swivel or shank under sideways loads.
